I'm excited to share my new space.
My first Substack post:
I decided to launch this space as a way to create a fun way to reach potential readers. As a brand new, as yet unpublished author, I wanted a way to connect and cultivate a following. I hope you’ll stay, hang out a while, and let me know what you think.
For now, I’ll post about interesting books I’ve read that I think you’ll like too. I read about a book a week. That’s all I can manage with everything else going on in my life. As a triathlete, a semi retired business owner, mother, and grandmother, trust me when I say my hands are full. Between my paid work, my training, writing, reading, babysitting, and needing quiet headspace to think, my days are not nearly long enough.
What do I write? Well, I’m a thriller writer. I’ve always been drawn to thrillers and crime stories. My love for reading started with Nancy Drew and quickly escalated to Sidney Sheldon. I grew up with Starsky and Hutch, Miami Vice, and Charlie’s Angels. My family did not have cable television so I babysat a lot. I was always eager to get the kids to bed so I could watch all the exciting shows we didn’t get at home. I’ve since graduated to grittier television and books, but it’s still all about thrillers, crime, suspense, and murder mysteries.
I also love to read historical fiction and memoirs. Every now and then my brain needs a break from the psychological machinations and strives for more intellectual pursuits.
So, that’s it. Thanks so much for being here. I hope this is the beginning of a fun relationship with readers and fellow writers alike. I’ll keep you up to date on my writing developments in future posts.
